I would like for all my patients to strive for optimal dental health, as it is a reflection of their overall health and well-being. I very much appreciate the strong doctor-patient relationships I have built over the past 30 years, and am rewarded by the generations of families that trust me with their oral healthcare. While the clinical details of dentistry are intriguing, seeing the pleasure and confidence derived by a patient at the conclusion of treatment is why dentistry holds so much meaning for me.
Education and Continuing Education
As a child, I found dentistry fascinating, and often requested a mirror to watch my own dental procedures! This interest in dentistry did not fade as I grew up, but only strengthened. My dream of becoming a dentist was realized after attending the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors.
A true professional must be a lifelong student, because the changes in the dental field mandate it. I am a staunch advocate of continuing education and exceed the required number of hours needed to retain my license on a regular basis. As a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, I have exhibited my dedication to education by completing a series of vigorous exams and case presentations.

Outside the Office
A Midwesterner to the core, I was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Wisconsin and Iowa before settling in the Chicago area in 1968. My wife, Penny, is a retired attorney, and we have two grown children. Our current “children” consist of a soft-coated Wheaten terrier and a Bichon Frise. I enjoy biking, hiking, curling, and most water sports to allow for my avid wine and food enthusiasm!
